Bringing together innovators, policymakers and activists it challenges us to think about participative design, innovative home and community building, democratic urban planning, and agency for residents in the creation of their homes.
CoHousing Here aims to inform the Irish public in regard to alternative, socially and environmentally sustainable housing models, which encourage and facilitate diversity, adaptability and community development. CoHousing Here is designed to inspire Irish people as to the possibilities for participating in and contributing to high quality diverse urban neighbourhoods, as well as the potential for self-organised development.

URBAN ACTIVIST AND COHOUSING EXPERT
Michael is a Community Developer, Project Manager, Common Good Urban Activist and CoHousing Expert. He is a founder of id22: Institute for Creative Sustainability, whose work involves studying, supporting and publicising relationships among self-organized housing, post-growth urban development processes, regeneration and sustainability.

HOUSING POLICY OFFICER, THE GLA
Temitope is a Policy Officer working in the Homes for Londoners team at the Greater London Authority. She is responsible for contributing to the development and review of housing policies, with a focus on supporting the growth of the community-led housing sector. She oversees the administration of the London Community Housing Fund.

PLANNER AND URBANIST, AMSTERDAM
Jacqueline is a Dutch planner and urbanist who manages experimental urban developments. In doing this she firmly believes that people should be able to shape their own homes and living environments. As the project manager of the Homeruskwartier in Almere with 1400 individual plots she has been responsible for the largest self-build area in the Netherlands.

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT SURVEYOR
Stephen is a chartered planning and development surveyor, working as an independent public interest practitioner. He has visited the USA and Canada as a Churchill Fellow, and his research describes what can happen when the ‘state’ and ‘citizens’ collaborate to design alternative approaches to housing and neighbourhood development through community developed and owned housing.
Geert De Pauw
ACTIVIST AND COMMUNITY WORKER
Geert has been active for more than 20 years for the right to housing in Brussels. In 2008, following a study visit to the Champlain Housing Trust in Burlington, he started advocating for the establishment of a Community Land Trust in Brussels. He coordinated the feasibility study for the establishment of a CLT, and is since coordinator of CLTB and cofounder of SHICC.

Senior Architect, LCCC & SAUL
Rosie is the Senior Architect in Economic Development at LCCC. She leads programmes of work to stimulate the historic city centres of Limerick City, its towns and villages. She is also a lecturer at University of Limerick and founder of the Adaptive Governance Lab at SAUL. Her research at the AGL focuses on testing new ways to build strong community networks for greater citizen involvement.
Darach O’Connor
Senior Executive Officer, Dublin City Council
Darach is seeking to regenerate 6,000 apartment schemes over 40 years old, and to build more and better public housing and develop the City’s Capital Regeneration Work Programme for 2019- 2040. He has over 20 years’ experience of working in various regeneration, housing and planning initiatives like the Dublin Docklands Strategic Development Zone.

CEO, The Land Development Agency
John is Chief Executive of the Land Development Agency (LDA) which is focused on opening up State owned land for development, the regeneration of under-utilised sites and legacy use areas, and assembling strategic land-banks over the long-term. He is a Chartered Accountant and previously worked at NAMA, where he was Chief Financial Officer.

Tom is an architect working in Germany and Ireland. He is a founder and Co-Director of SOA, an organisation whose aim is to develop the possibilities for cooperative and collaborative approaches to housing in Ireland. In 2008 he established his own practice in Hamburg.

Maria is the UK Cohousing Network’s Senior Cohousing Ambassador. For many years she has worked with the OWCH (Older Women’s Cohousing) Group, who at the end of 2016, moved in to ‘New Ground’ Cohousing in North London, the UK’s first and only Senior Cohousing Community. Maria has researched and written about cohousing in various countries.

Eldon’s interest in CoHousing stems from his studies in Environmental Science which convinced him of the need for society to pioneer a new aspiration of living. Eldon has direct experience of CoHousing having lived in Camphill Community Jerpoint. He co-organised the Irish Community Living Unconference and the resulting website communityliving.ie.

ARCHITECT AND CO-FOUNDER OF EUTROPIAN
Daniela is a co-founder of Eutropian. She is an architect and urban planner, and holds a Ph.D. in urbanism. Her recent research and projects’ interest has been on the governance of peri-urban landscape, the revitalisation of local food markets, economic models for community-based urban development and strategies to tackle urban poverty.

Carles is an architect (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) and urban sociologist (Universiteit van Amsterdam). He’s a partner at the cooperative of architects Lacol and activist at the housing cooperative La Borda. He mainly works and researches on citizen participation, public space and housing policies.

Project Lead, HBFI
Michael was appointed as Project Lead for Home Building Finance Ireland by the Minister for Finance in July 2018. He is a former Army Officer, and joined the NTMA in 2006 as a Financial Analyst, where he worked on a number of PPP infrastructure projects. Before his appointment at HBFI he held a number of different roles at NAMA, including Deputy Head of Residential Delivery.
